It's obviously trying to emulate the darkness of this one but it's going WAY overboard with villains murdering teenagers and satanic rituals. Plus it's been going on for months. Like you said in your review, the effectiveness of Kraven's Last Hunt is that it came out of nowhere and really contrasts with the happy-go-lucky Spidey stories we are used to. The current teams have made a mistake in making 30 straight issues in that tone. At that point it really stops being Spider-man comic. It also doesn't help that they are deliberately calling back to "Torment", the Clone Saga, and Straczynski's Spider-totem stuff all in one storyline. Ugh!!! I think I'm dropping the book for a while. On the plus side, I'm filling in all of the Amazing issues from 200-300 and they are a real blast. Your Web reviews are explaining a lot of editorial boxes for me. So, thanks!Jeffnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2734283773701136760.post-57466215478489584632010-06-17T09:51:05.695-04:002010-06-17T09:51:05.695-04:00<>

This is how you do an "adult" story without things like rape, child molestation, dismemberment, blood & gore, etc. I wish McFarlane and DC's current staff would understand this...wwk5dnoreply@blogger.com
